Added some detail and depth on the 26th~~
I used green and red in celebration of the 25th.
He held the cigarette to his lips, drawing in a deep breath. He closed his eyes, letting the warmth settle into his lungs, and finally released the smoke through his parted teeth. Let it be enough, he murmured. My rations run low.
The prison was growing more acrid with every heartbeat; his side still stung from the earlier effects of the spell. He thanked the last threads of merciful light that drew him a little hope against the poison. The dust in the air danced as he quietly lowered the sleeve of his robe.
The smoke twirled against the light, folding over itself in delicate threads, finally spreading out to form transparent wings. The specter butterfly beat slowly, as if suspended in water.
“Fly,” he smiled warmly at his pet, optimistic despite the heaviness of his surroundings. “Break though the fog. Find me a victim.”
This is very amazing! The colors and the positioning is stunning. The beams of light are a very nice effect and the smoke is very cool, the way it twists and looks like actual smoke. ^_^
Everything is very strong in this, the expression, the colors, even the folds in the clothes.
Wonderful!
Wow, thank you so much Shakka. I'm very glad you like it. I'm especially happy you like the smoke, because I haven't really done lots of smoke studies before. Glad to know my techniques are finally catching on.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
