Obviously, the spelling errors demonstrate that I'm not a liberal arts major. XD

Timeline/Tutorial-ish Advice >_>; I had no idea which category to place thisssss. But I think this is useful to show you all how I progressed over the past 4 years. SO MUCH WORK TO IMPROVE IN! But I'm slowly getting there.. yay! :)

If you disagree with something.. you're more than welcome to bitch at me. Or give me more stuff to plug in that I may have forgotten.

Please read the guide at the bottom of the timeline. ^^ I explain stuff I wish I had know when I began doing digital art.

(I'm 19 now, in case you were wondering O_O;;; )

damnit this is really useful for people. i often have wished somebody had told me all this earlier too.

awesome :3
Oh, this is great~ you did a wonderful job compiling advice.
"If you buy a 'How to Draw Manga'-type book, I will stab you." YES XD; I HATE it when I'm talking to people about developing their skills and they go, "Maybe I should buy one of those books" or something, it's like "NO IDIOT XE DRAWWWWW"

Great advise and great timeline assembly. <3
I will probably add more later. ^^ It's just stuff that bugged me, nuuuu! Such basic advice, and nobody told me! :P

"I am not indecisive! Okay, maybe sometimes. No, NEVER!"
cool i'm 18 now and have no art class experience, don't have Photoshop but used it in a Dig graphics class, so i'm hoping to buy it and learn from my photoshop class.
LOL somebody feels my paaaaain! XD That is one of my biggest pet peeves. "ZOMG I love anime lemme buy this how to draw manga book!" and I'm like ARGH. X_X;;; The books teach you how to parrot that artist's style!!! I WILL BITE YOU IF YOU BUY IT! (and the company knows a lot of fans think they will magically learn from those books, and they make a crap-load of money on a series that will only hold them back) I know, because I started out with the parrot method, and failed miserably in the beginning. XD If I had known.. duh, it's easier to abstract the form after learning how to draw a real human and such, I could have gotten out of so many art lulls. :P /rant

Thank you!! :) I was only going to make it a timeline, but looking over the last four years, and seeing the 5th year approach.. I wanna open the new year with people filling up Life Drawing classes. XD

Yeah, dont you wish you could go back in time and slap yourself and prevent all those stupid mistakes and paths you took sometimes? XD

YES!! sooooo much! haha
Cool cool! The educational version is cheap and great to learn with. :) Classes are really good to be in the supportive atmosphere of other people learning. ^^ Also, there are soooo many awesome art tutorials online from sexy artists. :) I should compile a list of those on the site later.
